Over 700 acres of forest, lakes and 17 miles of trails… Bowie is a great place for individuals, couples and families to come and enjoy their time. Bicycling, horseback riding, fishing, running, walking and playing aboard the Treehouse Playground can be enjoyed each and every day of the year.

At any time, trails may be closed to bikers and horseback riders due to wet conditions, it is advisable to call before riding.
When visiting the Park, check the Kiosk located in front of the restrooms for seasonal hiking guides, wildflower and wildlife information.

Bowie Nature Park Invites the Community to Fall Fun Day October 8th    Start the fall season out right.  On Saturday, October 8th bring the family out to Bowie Nature Park’s Fall Fun Day.  The excitement begins at 10am and will go on until 3pm.  The event is free and includes fall and nature themed activities for the whole family.  $2 Pumpkins for decorating and food will be available for purchase.   Park in the event field behind the playground and follow the signs to begin the fun.  Inside the Nature Center you

Butterfly Identification Series

Coming up soon, we have a new series of adult classes focused on the identification of local butterflies. Each day of the series will be an in depth look at one of the major groups of butterflies.  The class will start in the Nature Center where you will learn identifying characteristics of certain individuals in the group that is being studied for the day.  Afterward, everyone will go on a hike to seek out wild butterflies and get some first-hand experience in identifying them in the field. September 26th Homeschool Program

Registration for the September 26th Homeschool Program opens Monday August 29th at 8:00am. Sessions are from 9am-11am or 1pm-3pm.  Ages range from 5yrs – 12yrs.  We split them into two groups based on age (5-7yrs and 8-12yrs).
